    You’d never know this Putney veteran is nowadays run separately from the famous chain it spawned – it has the same “’black-lacquered” night-club décor, and similarly offers “dependably delicious” Chinese fare (including “very fine dim sum”).

    The day’s special of roasted pork belly was first-rate: the deliciously crunchy skin provided a wonderful counterpoint to the succulent meat, with both flavour and texture sinfully enhanced by an audacious layer of fat. The wide variety of dishes and the pleasant surroundings make this Putney stalwart a decent option for those in the neighbourhood.

    The "original" Putney outpost of the famous Chinese chain has not, in fact, been part of it for years, if you didn't know, though, you'd never spot the difference, and it serves similarly "excellent dim sum"
